It is fine to say that God loves everybody, and God is going to forgive everybody. But suppose someone wrongs you deeply -- such as by killing your loved ones. Is is right that such a person should simply be forgiven? Will you not demand justice?
God is not mocked. Although God is good, God is not 'safe'. We cannot presume upon his mercy.
