Human Nature: Exaggeration of Creation -> Rejection of Providence

Humans do have a special status in the universe: we are free to choose (though not as if we could overrule God's will). Existentialism, as a form of humanism, recognizes the exalted status of human nature in the world, but it doesn't mean anything practically, because the rest of the universe is meaningless and there is nothing beyond it.
