Church: Exaggeration of Diversity -> rejection of Equality

The tendency to emphasize diversity often leads to a separation of the church into ranks or levels of a hierarchy. Some leadership is good, and is apparently authorized by Paul in I Corinthians 12, when he speaks of the 'higher gifts' of preaching, teaching, and prophecy. However, the rest of the context makes it clear that there is no intention to break the essential equality of all Christians; in the Church there are no 'little people'.
